The huge blooms of hydrangea macrophylla or bigleaf hydrangea are arriving weekly into the shop from Holland. We love opening the boxes to see which dramatic colors have shown up THIS week with names like Vendetta Blue and Magical Amethyst.
Hydrangeas love water .. in the garden they can be very thirsty and in the vase, they prefer to be recut every other day. If you should ever have a problem with premature wilting, snip the stem and submerge the entire flower in HOT water. This will generally revive the bloom and give it another few days.

  1. Thanks for the great tip on the hydrangea and submerging it in hot water if it is experiencing premature wilting. Have you ever considered blogging about offering a florist class? With your tips I would bet you'd get a lot more exposure to potential students! You have a fantastic blog, and there are always people looking to take floral classes. Just an idea...(smile)
